AN EFFECTIVE PRACTITIONER IS WHAT I'M STRIVING TO BE

Greetings,
My name is Colette A. Livingston, I am a twenty three year old junior majoring in speech Communication and minoring in elementary education. After graduating, I plan on becoming an Elementary School Teacher and later a Speech Therapist. While volunteering at a private school called The Learning Tree Multi-Cultural School, I fell in love with teaching and decided it would be my career. Upon working there, I have gained much experience and have learned how to be an effective teacher, while developing each students mental, physical and social abilities through drama and dance. I am also grateful for having experienced and knowledgeable education professors and mentors. On the side of this page I have choosen to lesson plans that I designed in my multimedia for teachers class. I hope you enjoy them.
My Philosophy
I believe that each child has the ability to learn no matter what size, color, religion or ethnicity. I believe its the job of the teacher to find each students talent/abilites and use it to enhance their learning. If I had to describe my students as an artifact they would all be seeds, which would one day develop and produce good fruits through education. As an aspiring teacher I pledge to water my students with Knowledge feed them nutrients of love respect, honesty, encourgement, reinforcement and social interaction.
